Non-Local Placement Criteria and Timelines 

Applications for non-local enrolment in the current year will be processed by the school’s Non-Local Placement Panel as soon as possible after the application is received.

Applications for non-local enrolment in Kindergarten for the following school year will be processed by the school’s Non-Local Placement Panel in Week 5 of Term 3. Applications for Kindergarten in the following school year close on July 31. Late applications will only be considered if vacancies exist.

Applications for non-local enrolment in Years 1-6 for the following year will be processed by the school’s Non-Local Placement Panel in the last school week in November. Late applications will only be considered if vacancies exist.

All applications will be assessed by the Non-Local Placement Panel according to the following criteria:

  • siblings already enrolled at the school
  • medical reasons
  • safety and supervision of the student before and/or after school
  • particular student welfare needs
  • travel arrangements and/or distance
  • move from a non-government school

Please note that it is not necessary to address all the criteria – only those that apply to you and your family situation. Applications are considered according to the strength of criteria addressed rather than the number of criteria.

Part of our school’s Enrolment Policy is that parents must investigate the possibility of enrolment at their local public school before a non-local application will be processed to the point of making an offer. This would include a visit to your local public school. Further information about our Enrolment Policy is available from the school’s website.

Parents may appeal against decisions regarding non-local placement. Appeals must be lodged in writing and addressed to the Principal.
