District/Area/State Carnivals

District Carnivals - Central Wollongong District PSSA

Teams are selected on performance at the school carnivals and in according to the rules of each sport set by the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA).

Age divisions vary according to sport and event.

  • Swimming: 8/9/10yrs, 11yrs, 12/13yrs   (50m freestyle – 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13yrs)
  • Cross Country: 8/9yrs, 10yrs, 11yrs, 12/13yrs.
  • Athletics: 8/9/10yrs, 11yrs, 12/13yrs (100m – 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13yrs)

The 8 years' age is the youngest group in PSSA sport.

Entries to District carnivals are to be submitted by the sports coordinator after the completion of the carnival.

Regional Carnivals - South Coast SSA

Teams are selected on performance at the district carnivals and in according to the rules of each sport set by the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association.

  • SWIMMING: 1st, 2nd, in all strokes     

Individual Medley by qualifying time.

  • CROSS COUNTRY: Top 7 placegetters in each division - 8yrs, 9yrs, 10yrs, 11yrs, 12/13yrs
  • ATHLETICS: 1st, 2nd, in all events (100m – 1st, 2nd, 3rd )

800m – 1st, then next best qualifying.

State Carnivals - New South Wales PSSA

Competitors are selected on performance at the Regional carnivals and in according to the rules of each sport set by the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association.

Swimming/Athletics: Olympic Park - Homebush     

Cross Country: Eastern Creek

KPS would like to acknowledge Grandmother mountain, Geera and Grandfather mountain, Gembla, who have provided food, shelter and knowledge for generations of Aboriginal people. We are grateful and honoured to learn in the foothills of Mount Keira and to be protected, nurtured and watched over by her. Our gift to her is to be respectful, honest, proud, safe and responsible. We aim to be caring of others and Country.
